| The collected dust precipitation (rain), is determined by vaporising the sample or by filtering it and weighting it afterwards. The removal of contaminants from the sample (e.g. bird's dirt) is usually not necessary, due to the construction of the device. The analysis of the sample may occur at a central location, as the measuring glass can be sealed and is easily transportable. | The method uses slabs to record the pollution, these are alkaline and hygroscopic (damp). Acidic gaseous air pollutants that overcome the diffusion resistance of the slabs are kept. Analysis at a central location at a later time is possible. |
